The Cheese House was built in 1946 by 32 Amish and Mennonite farmers from adjacent counties of Washington and Johnson in Iowa. It was named the Twin County Dairy and over 30 million pounds of award-winning cheddar is manufactured annually and over 12 types of cheese are stocked.
