The Round Barn, which was donated by the Brammer Family of Lenox, Iowa, has recently been moved to the grounds of the Taylor County Historical Museum in Bedford, a rural town of about 1,600 and restored by the Taylor County Historical Society. Much of the restoration work was completed by residents over 65 years old, but the roof work proved to be too difficult for them. A group of Amish families that live in Redding, about 30 miles from Bedford, came to the rescue by sending a few young men each day to put up rafters and shingle the roof. On May 9, 1998, the newly restored barn was celebrated on the Museum grounds with a lunch attended by the Governor, Terry Branstad.
